Ranger's NEW Embossing Powders

I have to say I am beyond humbled....
I opened my Instagram page the other day and noticed a message.
So, I popped over to see what it was about....
and there was a message from Kelly from Ranger Ink. WHAT!?!?!

Ranger Speckle Embossing Powder using ArtFoamies Stamps and Emboss it ink pad

YOU SEE....
Ranger Ink has released NEW Speckle Embossing Powders! and they asked if I'd be interested in playing with their new product.
NOW...that was a silly question! OF COURSE!
So, I PATIENTLY waited for my box to arrive....
When my box arrived, I headed right for my studio to try them out.

with ArtFoamies ~ Polka Dot stamp
I wanted to see how the product worked and
what it looked like when finished.
I tried several different ways to apply the Speckle Embossing Powder which is
a blend of color and textured granules.
  • Pouring onto paper with stamped image.
I found that the color covered the embossing ink making it a bit difficult       for the speckles to adhere.
  • Scooping out Embossing Powder with my palette knife and sprinkling onto stamped image.
This way worked better but I was still getting toooo much color and not        enough speckle.
  • Lastly, using very small quantities of the Speckled Embossing Powder, specifically placed.
By far my FAVORITE way. It Allowed the "speckles" to adhere better.

Once I had determined how to apply the Embossing Powder....what next?!?

First, I wanted to dimmish the glossy look. So, I applied a layer of

I then pulled out more ArtFoamies Stamps
and let the stamping/embossing/layering begin.
Layer upon Layer of FABULOUS color.

NOW....what to do with my new "Embossed Paper".
I decided to cut it into ATC's 2.5 x 3.5 to use for cards.

I then pulled out one of my UmWowStudio ~ Small Ivy.
Now, I need a green color so I thought I'd try mixing
BlueBerry and Lemon Drop

I used Ranger ~ Emboss It Dabber ~ Clear
on the chippie and covered it with my mixture.
I have to say....I LOVE how it came out.

I even added a bit of Emboss It Dabber ~ Clear
to the edges of the flower and Embossing Powder ~ Cotton Candy

Breathe and Fly

I won't lie.....
2019 has been by far the worst year of my life!
On March 9, 2019 I lost my LOVE
....the peas to my carrots,
the ying to my yang
...the one who found something in me I could not find
....my BABY LOVE!

one of my favorite pictures of us...

He fought a tough fight for 5 years.....the Dr threw everything she had at him and hurt him bad! But he got back up time and time again. We knew eventually the Mantle Cell would win. I called it our version of the Whack~A~Mole game. He would get better then we would just wait for IT to rear it's ugly head....his gremlin.

He was the strongest, most stubborn man I have ever known. Every day...he got up and went to work, regardless of how he felt ....in sweltering heat and frigid cold. He worked EVERY DAY, right up to the end. He taught me to "put on my big girl panties" wipe away my tears and MOVE ONWARD.

the finished piece

As we embarked on this journey, our "New Normal" we made a pact! He would get better and I'd do the rest. And that I did! As time went on, I began to watch him die before my eyes. I stopped traveling to stay close to home, going with him to ALL of his appointments, because we just NEVER KNEW when the mole would rear his UGLY head! ......and because NO ONE FIGHTS ALONE! I wanted us to be able to make the most out of the GOOD days and lay low, as needed, on the BAD!

my motto

Before he passed, I made him 3 PROMISES......
1. He wouldn't die alone.
2. I wouldn't fight with his son.
3. I'd be OK
Little did I know how HARD it would be to keep my WORD!

I stayed by his side during his hardest battle, the one we both knew he COULDN'T win! I was there as he took his last breath, holding his cold hand and giving his cold lips one last kiss....5:34 am ......and then I was ALONE!

Little did I know when I made the second promise that the son who had been my "friend" would turn on me, saying "IT'S ALL MINE"!

....i promised i'd be OK!

This has been a TOUGH one to walk out! Trying to keep my heart from becoming hard and HATING Gary for allowing THIS to happen. ....he had PROMISED me! It was hard enough GRIEVING the lose of the man I LOVE, but to also hunt for an apartment, get a car.....pack and leave the place I had worked SO HARD to make our home. At times, life has felt ALMOST unliveable. The weight of each day....just CRUSHING! People would say, you're so STRONG. My response....NAH, i just keep waking up every morning, so i HAVE NO CHOICE!

i had to break through the walls i was starting to build....

Bringing me to today. THANKS for the prayers, WORDS of encouragement and HUGZ from many a folk! I am HAPPY TO REPORT, I have purchased a car AND found an apartment! Now to begin the process of moving FORWARD. Hence, my current creation.

I REALLY struggled and struggled with it, tearing it apart many a time. Letting it sit for days on end, pondering my next move. Each time getting a little bit closer to what I had envisioned. Sometimes not even really knowing what I wanted but with the help of friends, verbalizing what I couldn't see in my head, I found my path. The finishing touch being a part of the bracelet I wore for 5 years....No One FIGHTS Alone! It somehow ended up on top of my piece and I KNEW it was meant to be. This piece is VERY symbolic of what I have gone through in these last three months ....I knew it was meant to be even through the struggle! And I LOVE IT!

....i have wings!

NOW it's my time! Time to try and figure out where I'd like the next chapter of my life to take me. .....while just TRYING to keep in some type of forward movement, even if it may ONLY be the smallest of steps. JUST WAITING for the day when the thick cloud of grief will lift and I will once again be "Happy go Lucky Lynne" as Gary would call me....

.....i want to FLY.

Gary J. Hale

I shall miss you every day for the rest of my life!
....the part of me, that's YOU, will NEVER DIE!

TODAY is my 56th birthday....
and as I sit here and reflect on my life
and how hard this journey has been...
I'd do it ALL OVER AGAIN!

....gave her WINGS!

Hi Peeps!
I am honored to bring this post to you!
My friend, Candy Rosenberg, posted she was releasing
 FABULOUS products at Creativation 2019.
I was SOO HAPPY for her!
Then she messaged ME asking
if I could create something using her products.

my answer....OF COURSE I could!!

Wicked Wings, A Vintage Girl, Canvas Corp, ArtFoamies, Tattered Angels, Ranger Ink

I knew EXACTLY what I was going to do....
You see while wandering through Walmart one day,
with my bestie, Peggalish, I came across
a pair of wooden wings on a stand.
I HAD TO HAVE IT.
I picked it up and noticed it was all whobbly and it even fell apart.
.....but I HAD TO HAVE IT!
SO, I think I paid a whole $1.75
and brought it home.

As a result, I pulled the wooden wings out
removed the Christmas decoration from the front
and proceeded to pull out a few of my FAVORITE PRODUCTS!

So, I let the mono printing begin!!
FYI....I used a piece of Tissuestock as my paint palette
which I would in turn use as part of the wings.

Just after I had finished mono printing with the various paints,
I stamped with White Gesso all over the sheets
adding texture and continuity to the papers.

I even stamped on a piece of thin fabric.
LOVE IT!!

After everything was dry,
I diecut the wings making sure to cut pieces for the left and right sides.
(papers facing up and then papers facing down)

I painted Multi Medium ~ Matte to the backsides of the fabric leaves.
When dry, I proceeded to man handles all of the wing pieces.

But they weren't standing apart enough,
consequently, I pulled out my Distress Oxide ~ Vintage Photo.
I then rubbed it onto my craft mat. Just after, I spritzed it with a bit of water
and applied it to the edges of the wings with my finger.

Just after they were all distressed and dry, I let the wing building begin!

I almost forgot, I also "aged" the wooden wings.
I just LOVED how it was coming together.

Now, for the piece de la resistance
Wicked Wings ~ Small

I dabbed on various colors to give the wings an aged metal look!

I then pulled out a bowl of bits and baubles....

and found the PERFECT addition
to the Wicked Wings ~ Small
a vintage earring and a gear from the
Steampunk Gear Set.

I finished off the stand by "aging" the wood
using Archival Inks.

My finished project....

2018 Christmas Card

Howdy Peeps!!
Thanks for stopping by to check out my
2018 Christmas Card.

I just ordered and received a 12 x 12 Gel Press plate!
....and I wanted to play with it!
I pulled out a few

Perfect Paints Shimmering Matte Acrylics
Red Wagon
Moss Green
Bright Gold
Canvas Corp
Ivory and Kraft Cardstock
Black E Flute

Golden Orange

ArtFoamies
Circle Background Positive and Negative

Multi Medium Matte

I enjoyed a time of exploring my Gel Plate, paints and a stamp.
(sorry no photos)

My thoughts were to create a Christmas Ornament
but can I just say.....that's not working out so well.
A lot of hard work and it's not nearly as nice as I pictured in my head.

Now, I had cut my 3 pieces of monoprinted cardstock into 1 x 12 strips
so I decided to weave them together.
I then adhered the woven paper to a piece of
Kraft Cardstock with Multi Medium and let it dry overnight.

Using the Tattered Pinecone die, I diecut a piece of Black E Flute!
I colored my branch with a bit of Partridge in a Pear Tree Glimmer Mist.
I then tied a little golden bow and adhered it to the branch.

I cut up the piece of woven paper into 3 x 5.5 pieces.

I inked the woven paper and card with Vintage Photo Distress Oxide.

I then put my card together with Multi Medium!
Here is my finished card!

Hoping to have time to make up a few more of this beauty!!

THANK YOU for stopping by
to check out my creative play time!
